Clinical Insights into the Treatment of Glaucoma The treatment and management of ocular hypertension and glaucoma requires a series of decisions be made over the course of a person's lifetime. This course will describe the medical and surgical options used in the therapy of glaucoma. How the decision is made when to treat or escalate therapy will be discussed.
Course #2 - 2 Hours, COPE # 25714-GL
Clinical Insights into the Diagnosis of Glaucoma This course will discuss the steps used to establish the diagnosis of glaucoma. The different tests will be described and how each is incorporated into the decision making process. The concept of using multiple tests to corroborate whether loss is present will be described.
Course #3 - 1 Hour, COPE # 29699-GL
Glaucoma Update Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide and open-angle glaucoma affects more than 2 million individuals over the age of 40 years in the United States; thus, diagnosis of this disease is pertinent. In this presentation, various tests, including tonometry, optic nerve, visual fields, selective perimetry, imaging, will be described and how each is incorporated into the decision-making process will be explained. The goal of most glaucoma treatments is aimed at lowering and/or controlling IOP and establishing a target IOP. Extended wear contact lenses, punctal plugs, contact lens delivery devices and the latest therapeutic options with regard to devices used to implant materials in the vitreous will be reviewed, as will the topic of ophthalmic drugs, with specific focus on generics.
